It's the most wonderful time of the year...

ITS ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!!!!  I am so excited. I absolutely love Christmas. Everyone is in the holiday spirit. Krystel and I decorated our apartment for Christmas and it is super cute!
Our Tree!!

And my super cute stocking.

Like I said I LOVE Christmas. With that being said the week before is the absolute worst time to go to stores EVER. The other day I was walking into Target from the parking lot and this lady zooms past completely ignoring the stop sign and almost hits me. Then she looks at me like "what the heck are you doing" and flicks me off. It was a little ridiculous.

In other news, I got a job. It is pretty much an amazing job. It is work study so I get a grant on top of getting paid by the hour. I'm a computer lab assistant, which basically means I sit at a computer, facebook, and get paid for it. It's a pretty sweet gig.

The other day I babysat my god-daughter Abby, and she is the absolute cutest little girl ever. There isn't really a story but I love this picture. She fell asleep in my lap.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

thank the lord for electricity

It's been a while...

Well thanksgiving was last week and I went to Arkansas with my mom, brother, grandma, and uncle. It was so fun to do something different for the holiday. I have a really small family on my mom's side so it was a lot of fun to have a lot of people around for the holiday. We were able to meet some of the new additions to our family. I was able to meet my second cousins husband and daughter as well and my other cousins fiance.
Laine- Carmen's Daughter (she is so stinkin' cute)

To make it even more interesting at around 11:30 Thanksgiving day, as we were getting ready for lunch, the electricity went out. We called the electrical company and they said it would only be off for a short time. It turns out it was off for the rest of the day. Needless to say it made the day interesting. Thankfully, most of the food had already been fixed, but we had to eat by candlelight. It was kinda fun to have no distractions and to be able to really catch up with everyone. But then around 3 o'clock everyone started getting ancy because the cowboy's game was starting. Thank goodness for cell phones. The saddest part of the day was that there were no leftovers. That is always the best part of the holiday!

(stole this picture from Carmen)

Well Thursday afternoon we headed home, because Mom and I HAD to be home for black friday. I ended up getting about 2 hours of sleep and then woke up at 2:30 and headed to target. It was SO cold but so much fun. We didn't get much, but we went to a couple places and then went to IHOP and got breakfast.

I saw a couple movies this weekend too. I saw Morning Glory, Harry Potter, and Love and Other Drugs. They were all so good! I highly recommend them. Just a little warning though, Lov e and Other Drugs is a little racy. Just FYI!

Im going to Oklahoma this weekend to help through Cortney a baby shower, so be expecting a lot of pictures!!!

im not going to wait for the world to change..

Don't you hate when you accidently ex out of something your working on. oh well here goes round 2...

40 days until christmas....

which means its almost time for Black Friday. I LOVE black friday. Every year my mom and I wake up at an ungodly hour and go out shopping with all the other crazy people. It is so much fun! It really gets you in the holiday spirit and plus you get amazing deals.

And with Christmas just around the corner means that another semester is almost done. Each semester seems to go by faster and faster. And it is incredible hard to believe that this will be my 7th semester in college. It seems like I just started my freshman year and now I am towards the end of my undergrad. I started studying for the GRE this past week which is a big deal. My goal is to only take the test once and get a grade good enough to get me into PA school. So keep your fingers crossed.

Also i bought a new backpack yesterday. It is so cute and about time to get a new one. I have had the one I use now since freshman year of high school.

Im watching The Buried Life right now and so the top five things I want to do before I die are...

1. Backpack across Europe.
2. See the ball drop on New Years Eve in Times Square.
3. Live in either California or Hawaii for a short amount of time.
4. Graduate and have a job that I love
5. Go on a cruise around the world.

It's been a while...

So midterms are over (thank the lord!!!) and I finally have a life again, for a little while at least.

Halloween was last weekend (I cant believe it has been a week already) and I went to Prestonwood's fall festival with Katie, Adam, and Abby. Of course, Prestonwood went ALL out for this festival. You would have thought that you were at the state fair. It was so crazy there were all these inflatable games, rock climbing wall, and all the fair food you could imagine. It was so much fun!

Story time: When I was a senior in high school I got my EMT certification. As part of that, over spring break we had to do 3-12 hr ride outs with the plano fire department. For some reason Sunday night I was laying in bed just randomly thinking about how akward those 12 hours were. Just sitting there not really talking to anyone just waiting for the alarm to go off. But there was one firefighter that sat down with me for a few hours and just quizzed me about random anatomy and physiology stuff. I honestly have not thought about that paper/ moment since then. Well Monday I was getting ready to go celebrate Katie's birthday so I got out my mom's stamping stuff to make a quick card. ( which hasnt been used in probably 2 years or so). I sit down at the table, pull the stuff out, and THAT PAPER WAS IN THERE!!! There was nothing else but that paper and the stamping stuff. I was completely freaked out and I have absolutely no idea how it got there. so weird.

Wednesday night Krystel and I went to the ranger rally at the ballpark. It was a lot of fun and we were able to see a  lot of the players. It was also a lot of fun to see how pumped up everyone still is about how well they did this season. i love it. GOO RANGERS!!!!

In other news, there is only 4 weeks until finals. That is ridiculous. It seems like the semester just started and now I have to start studying for finals. Why does time fly by so much faster every semester??

Day 17- An Art Piece

This is a long post and lots of pictures...sorry in advance.
First I had midterms which have been okay so far. (note the so far) I have a chem exam on thursday that is going to be killer. Let's go back to the first test. The class average was a 41 (out of 100) and 15 people got 8 ( which is one question). Now you would think that this would make the professor think that maybe he should readjust his teaching method. no no no, not this professor. it's all our fault for not understanding. So needless to say I HAVE to do well on this next test.

Thursday night my friend and big in TBS came in town to hang out and go to the Maroon 5 and OneRepublic concert. I like Maroon 5 but have never been to one of their concerts. The tickets were on sale for $10 each so we figured why not. Here is where the crazy part comes in. We got to the ampatheater early so we walked around and looked at all the booths set up. We saw that MIX 102.9 (the radio station putting on the concert) had a bowl of candy so we walked over to get some and ended up signing up for a drawing they had. Then we went and sat in out seats to get ready for the concert. Before the first opening act came on some DJs from Mix came out and were giving away two front row tickets. So they came on and anounced Kinsley Richerson. As soon as I heard Kinsley i started cheering just to be funny, and make the people around us think we won. Then my friend (Kelsey Richerson) looked at me and said, " no for real i think they meant to say my name. I think i won!" So we go to the tent and it WAS HER THAT WON! So long story short, we got to sit in the front row and it was SO much fun and SUCH a good concert.

Friday, we hung out until kelsey's flight left. We went and played Putt-Putt which i hadn't played in FOREVER! It was so fun though we felt like little kids again. Then we heard how KISS FM was previewing the new Rocky Horror Glee Episode at the american airlines center, and giving out free t-shirts. So we decided to stop by, and college students looove free t shirts. It was so fun and I love being downtown. Its so much fun!

After I dropped Kelsey off at the airport I hurried home to see the Rangers game. And Im sure everyone knows by know ...but THE RANGERS ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!! I am absolutely ecstatic. I have followed this team all year long and it is so cool to finally see them get the recognition they deserve.

The rest of this weekend I have pretty much been lame and studied the whole time. Krystel went home this weekend so I had the whole apartment to myself which has been really weird.

Day 17-An Art Piece

There are art pieces all over the OU campus and this one has the best story so I thought I would share it. At night the eyes light up red so it looks possessed. The story is that the artist who made this was asked to make a bigger replica of it for someone else. And while he was making it, it fell on him and killed him.

Day 16- A Song That Makes You Cry

First and most importantly, I met with my advisor last thursday and if a couple of things fall in to place i should graduate NEXT FALL!!!! holy cow that is crazy to think, two more semesters. But it all depends on what classes they offer in the summer. If they don't offer a certain class I will have to wait until that next spring. Which in the grand scheme of things isn't that big of a deal, but I would love to have a semester off until grad school. I guess we will see how things work out.

Last night Krystel and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Rangers game. It was so crazy. The place was packed and every single person there was watching the game. A bunch of people that work at the corporate offices for the Rangers were watching the game there too, and in between every inning they would make the whole restaurant do chants and stuff. It was so much fun. And the best part is THEY WON!!

This morning there was an earthquake in Oklahoma that was a 5.1 magnatude, which apparently is the same as when the nagasaki atomic bomb was dropped. This got me thinking just how amazing GOD is. Just when you think you have everything figured out, he throws something completely out of left field to remind you he is still in control. Just take a second to think about that.

Day 14- A Non-Fictional Book

Its been a pretty busy, but fun weekend...

Friday I went to Rob's game against WEST and they killed them. It was a really good game and so exciting that they won their homecoming. At halftime I watched the band's show and it brought back so many memories. Their show was really modern, really exciting, and really good. It reminded me a lot of the show Chaos Theory my junior year. We all loved the show so much and you can definitely see that during the performance. It sounds so cheesy but I will never forget the feeling when we performed that show and got a standng ovation after. There is this rush that you feel when you start marching out to your opening set and every trouble spot starts running through your head. The drum major starts and the next 8 minutes seem like the blink of an eye. I definitely miss marching way more than i thought.

Saturday I went to the Rangers game. The games are so much more electric now that people know they are good and care about what they are doing. The playoffs start wednesday, so GOOOOO RANGERS!!!

Day 14- A Non Fictional Book

Chelsea Handler is by far the funniest late night talk show host on tv. She doesnt take herself seriously which makes her even funnier. I loved this book!

Day 13- A Fictional Book

I have been thinking a lot lately about how lucky I am that I grew up so close to DFW, one of the biggest metroplexes in the country.  I think about my friends I met in Oklahoma, who would have to take a day off and drive an hour just to go to the mall, where as I have around 5 within a thirty minute drive of here. I am so fortunate. I started thinking about all this on my drive to school the other day. I drive by The Ballpark and Cowboys stadium every day to and from school. It is so crazy to think that in a few months the Superbowl will be in my backyard. How many people can say that? so cool.

Other than that school is school. Classes are going well, however I am ready to really get in to my major classes and not take any more gen-eds.

Im sure most people have heard about this but there was a shooting at the UT-Austin campus yesterday. College shootings are always scary, but this one hit home even more because a) I go to a UT satellite school and b) I know a lot of people that go there. It got me thinking how I would react if I got an email or text saying the campus was on lockdown. I honestly think I would freak out and not even know what to do. Its scary that we even have to worry about these things these days. When I walk on any college campus I have a sense of security because you are surrounded by other college students like you, or so I think. What is there to stop crazy people from walking around the campus? just something to think about.

Day 13- A Ficitional Book

I don't really read many fictional books, but this was my favorite book (and movie) that I read in school.

And fun story, when Louis Sachar was writing this book I was in 4th grade and he came to talk to us at Rasor. He read the first chapter of this book that he had just written. Pretty cool to think now.

Day 12-Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

So I dont really have much to update with, but still feel the need to update.

School has been going well. I had my first round of tests this past week and they went really good! I got A's on 3 and have one more to take on tuesday. I have this whole new motivation for school this semester which is really exciting!!

Last night I went to Rob's game vs. Marcus. It was a rough one. Keep rob's frind TK in your prayers. He got hurt last night and was taken to the hospital from the field.

Day 12- Whatever tickles your fancy

The Frogs won yesterday against SMU...

and its almost the best time of the year...saxeT week....

...AND THE RANGERS MIGHT CLINCH TODAY!!!

What a great weekend!!!

Day 11- A Photo Of You Taken Recently

So recently my life has been consumed with school and all the decisions that come with getting older. I have researched so many schools that have either P.A. or accelerated B.S.N. programs. I have looked at schools all over the country just to keep my options open. It is exciting and nerve racking all at the same time. If you know me you know I am a planner, and not being able to plan out my future is driving me crazy!!! But, I keep telling myself that this is God teaching me a lesson.

So with all that said I saw this quote and really liked it

"Life is what happens while you are making other plans." - John Lennon

In other news, I chopped 5 inches of my hair off today. It was time for a change and I absolutely LOVE it. It is so short (for me) and so much lighter.

Day 10- A Photo Of You Taken Over 10 Years Ago

Well its been a while..... haha

Welll this past Sunday was my birthday so of course I celebrated all weekend. Saturday night I went to the Dave Matthews Band concert with Hillary. He was awesome like usual and it was really fun. It was a little humid but other than that the weather wasn't that bad either. After that we met up with some of my other friends for a while and then Hill and I stayed at the Nylo Hotel. If you have never heard this is a loft style hotel. Picture what you would think a super modern New York loft would be and thats exactly what this place looked like. It was so much fun and I loved getting to have some "hill" time.

Sunday was the big day. We went to church and then a whole bunch of people wemt to lunch. It was so great to be surrounded by so many friends and family. I am so blessed. Overall it was a low-key, but great day!

And tonight I just got back from the rangers game...and THEY WON!!! And the best birthday present EVER was that they swept the Yankees over the weekend. and I hate the yankees!!!

And I promise to do better at updating! Hopefully my life wont be as hectic now that I have a schedule down.

A picture of me taken over 10 years ago....(this is so embarrasing)

This picture is so old school. (Shout out to Keith for putting it on facebook)

Day 9- A Photo I Took

I typed out my whole post and then it deleted....So round 2

This past week has been extremely hectic. It was the first full week of classes and with that comes the craziness of figuring out a schedule of the semester. I really like my classes so far. The hardest is definitely Chem 2, but I should be able to get through it. I love my kinesiology class, and am really excited about all the other excercise science classes after this one. My last class of the day is Pilates. If you have never tried Pilates YOU SHOULD!!! It is a great workout and a great way to wind down after classes.

Friday I went to the Plano East game to see Rob play. He did really well and THEY WON!! YAY!! I got to watch the band at half time and their show this year was awesome, ecspecially for being so early in the season. East band makes up so many of my high school memories and I like being able to see the that the tradition continues.

Saturday was college football kickoff. For the first time in 4 years I was not at a game and it was really sad. I just kept reminding myself that even if I had done guard this year, that I would be in this same boat next year.  But TCU and OU won, so all is well.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!

A Picture I Took

i took this at the game friday. GO EAST!!!!

Day 8- A Photo That Makes You Angry/Sad

Man what a weekend. I went to Oklahoma to surprise Cortney at her doctor's appointment where we found out she is having a BOY! Im so excited for her. Thursday night I was able to go to chapter and it was so great to get to see everyone. Im not gonna lie it was kinda weird sitting in chapter and looking around and not knowing over half the room. But all the new girls were super sweet and I got to meet my grand little.

It was so great to hang out with Cort, Caitlin, and Hill. Im so fortunate that I have so many friendships were we pick up right were we left off and its not weird. We laughed and joked just like I had never moved away.

A photo that makes me angry/sad

I really miss Pride and Oklahoma football. There is nothing better than running out of that tunnel to 85,000 people cheering. Such a rush.

Day 7- A Picture That Makes You Happy

I have an 8am class tomorrow and should be going to bed, but nope I decide to update my blog. Thats how you know I am in college ladies and gentleman.

I have the first day of senior year tomorrow. Now I would be really excited if I was graduating this year, but it is still crazy to think that this is my fourth year in college. I remember seeing college kids when I was in elementary/middle school and thinking they were so old and mature. I figured they were all married, responsible and boring. Now that I am actually a college senior (crazy!!) i am absolutely none of those. Sorry Im being super sentimental right now but time is going by so fast!!!

Day 6- Picture that makes me happy.

And since I am super indecisive I have a couple.

I went to Hawaii this summer and absolutely fell in love. I loved the beach to begin but the atmosphere is so laid back and care free. I want to move there when I graduate for a year or so just to enjoy it and after seeing Eat Pray Love I decided that I have to go. Why not when I am young and have nothing holding me down.

If you know anything about me you know I am OBSESSED with the Rangers. And The fact that they are doing so good this year makes me more than happy. GOOO RANGERS!!!

Day 6-Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

What. A. Day.

Krystel and I thought it would be a good idea to go run a whole bunch of errands today, so we were out shopping for 5 hours. Let me just tell you we saw some crazy things. This lady in front of us at target comes prancing in with cut off hot pink sweatpants cut off to shorts, a way to short top, bellybutton pierced, short short jet black hair and a rats tail dyed blonde. A definite people of walmart candidate.

Class starts on thursday and i have to say im pretty ready to get into a routine. Im sure being excited for classes will last like a day, but oh well. And I finally got into an intro to kinesiology class. The worst feeling is knowing you need to take a class but not being able to get in it because of number restrictions. I kept checking back everyday and finally someone dropped it and I got in. This class is a pre-req for a whole bunch of other classes so im really excited to get the ball rolling on Plan B of my college career.

My really good friend Jenn's boyfriend Nick left for Iraq today. This is his second deployment and will be gone for 12-15 months. Now not that being over there is easy, but it is extremely difficult for the loved ones they leave here. I have had several friends who have had boyfriends/fiances over there and have gone through the whole process with them. They are asked to go on and live their normal life without one of the most important people they know living it with them. Their entire day is spent waiting, hoping that you get a phonecall with poor reception and bad service. Just keep Jenn, Nick, and everyone else that has a part in this war in your prayers.

For the challenge today I get to do whatever I want. Sooo....

Day 5-Favorite Quote

Today has been pretty uneventful. I got everything situated in my room and in the living room. Decorating is totally my favorite part of moving. I slept in today too which was SOO nice. I was exhausted after moving everything yesterday.

this post is short and sweet.

My favorite quote....

" You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember the time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late. Go out on a Tuesday when you have a paper due on Wednesday. Spend money you don't have, drink 'til sunrise. The work never ends, but college does." -Tom Petty

This seems fitting seeing as how I start my senior year of college on thursday...which is way crazy by the way.

Day 4- Favorite Book

So its official, I suck at this whole blog thing...

anyways, I have been moving into my new apartment these past two days and it has been CRAZY busy. We were supposed to get our keys today but the electricity company accidentally cut my electricity off a day early so we got to move in a day early! (YAY!) I absolutely love my new place, its a lot nicer than my old one ( which was super ghetto) On that note I will NEVER AGAIN move in August in Texas. It was way to hot to do anything much less walk up and down a flight of stairs a million times.

I have been seeing everyone's facebook statuses about PRIDE and I am totally missing it right now. There was nothing better than the first boomer of the season or the roll off for the first pre-game. Im really hoping I can make it up there for a game this season because I really need some Sooner Football in my life.

Now my favorite book...this is a hard one.

Right now I am reading Redeeming Love. It is a retail of the book Hosea in the bible and so far it is SO good.

But my favorite book is Dear John. I know its a cheesy Nicholas Sparks book but I really liked it. It is different than they movie but i love them both.

Day 3- Favorite T.V. Show

Krystel and I just got back from seeing Eat Pray Love and it was SOO good! It makes you really realize how much you need to stay true to yourself. GO SEE IT.

I get to see my big Kelsey tomorrow. Im way pumped. She is one of the few people I have stayed in contact with from OU and I love getting to hang out and chat with her.

Now for the day to day...favorite T.V. show

Call it cheesy, trashy, whatever but I love it. I would love to be on a season, but they would never pick me because I am WAYY to boring. haha

Day 2- Favorite Movie

Oh man what a day....

Peak of the day- it was my brothers 18th birthday. How crazy that he is 18 and a senior!!!!! I feel like I was just a senior and now I get to see him enjoy one of the best years of his life.

Pit of the day- I didn't get accepted into the AP program at UTA. As disappointed as I was I have to remind myself that God has a plan for everything, and that everything happens for a reason. I have had a couple of bad experiences with the College of Nursing at UTA and at some point I have to take the hint that maybe I need to reevaluate things. But....IT WILL ALL WORK OUT! Im not stressing.

now the day to day challenge....my favorite movie.

This movie is amazing and it is that movie that everytime I come across it on T.V. I can't change the channel. Love.Love.Love.

1. Undo It- Carrie Underwood

Every single time this song comes on in the car i blare it and belt it out. Im sure i look ridiculous but whatever. haha
