day 179

I was so productive today. I woke up at 9:15 (early for me) and went to Southlake Town Square and bought my new iPad!!! I have been playing with it all day! Then I went and worked out, cleaned out apartment, and then printed pictures to finish our picture wall in our living room. We have lived in our apartment for a year and are just now finishing decorating. Haha we have put it off as much as possible.

This past weekend there was a fire at my old apartment complex. So today I drove by to see all the damage. It looks like it was really bad.

day 175/176

Last night I went with Jenn to a restaurant called Urban Crust to hang out. It was a really cool atmosphere. The bar top was a solid block of ice to keep all the drinks cold. It was really fun and so good to catch up with her.

Today is a pretty boring day. I am watching the Rangers game and facebooking. Every Sunday I read PostSecret. It is a website where people send in secrets they have on a postcard and then they are posted on this website every Sunday. It is really interesting to read all the different secrets people have. You should check it out!

day 173/174

So I totally would have posted yesterday, but let me just tell you what I had to go through to get back to my apartment from Plano. So the drive between P-town and Arlington is usually about 30-45 minutes. Well I was on my way home and right as I got to about DFW airport traffic came to a complete stop. I didn't think it would be that bad, so I waited. That was the biggest mistake of my life!!! The highway ended up being closed down completely, so it took me TWO HOURS to go less than two miles (1.8 miles to be exact) It was absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! I am a pretty patient person, but I thought I was going to go crazy. And to make it worse there was no where to turn to try and find my way home. I finally made it back to my apartment after THREE HOURS!!!!!

Today after work, I came home and took a serious nap. Then for dinner I went out with Krystel and Andrew, her boyfriend, then we went and say Bad Teacher. It was hilarious!!!

day 172

Today has been one year since Poppy passed away. I literally can't believe it has been an entire year, it has gone by so fast. So much has happened in the past year though, and I know he has had a little hand in a lot of it. The Rangers making it to the World Series, the Mavs winning the championship, Rob graduating, me changing my whole life plan. It's nice to know I have someone looking down over me. This is one of my fav pictures of us.

LOVE YOU POPPY!!

day 171

After work today Krystel and I went grocery shopping. We hadn't gone in over two months, so we were DESPERATE. And of course we kept putting it off, so our fridge/pantry was looking pretty slim. We had 30 bags of food, and we carried it all up to our apartment in one trip! We were so impressed with ourselves. haha

day 170

Since I have been all over the place the last couple weeks, I haven't been working out as regularly. So today I decided it was time to get back to the gym. First I did the eliptical for 30 minutes then lifted weights for about 30 minutes. Then I decided to do the ab circuit from The Nike Training Club app on my phone. BAD IDEA....... I am WAYYYYYYY sore already, and it has only been two hours. It is not looking so good for tomorrow. Oh well, it was worth it right???

day 165-169

So my life has been so crazy recently, so I haven;t really had time to update. But now it is starting to slow down, so I can update more. (Get excited!)

Wednesday through Friday I went to Baton Rouge with Rob, Dad, and Suzanne for Rob's orientation at LSU. It is so crazy to think that he is about to be a college freshman... where has the time gone??

Wednesday after we landed, we walked around the French Quarter, got dinner, and of course made a pit stop at Cafe Du Monde.

Thursday was a busy day full of orientation stuff... but we stopped to see Mike the Tiger

Friday before we left we went to the State Capitol. It is the tallest state capitol and took only 14 months to build! How crazy is that???

View from the top

All the different flags that have flown over the state

The Senate Room, they were actually in session, but were gone for the holiday.

Last night we went to see Kevin Hart, a comedian, at WinStar. He was absolutely HILARIOUS!!

Then today, I went walking around Southlake Town Square just to get out. When I got there I found out that Crossmen, a drum corp, was performing. I love drum corp, so I stopped and watch them perform a little bit.

day 164

Today was a pretty boring day, I went to work, came home and took a nap. and now I am eating dinner and watching the Rangers game. So I got super sunburned in Galveston, and now my shoulders and chest is peeling really bad. I look like I have some serious flesh eating disease. This is my ugly shoulder..

day 157-163

Here is a bunch of pictures to catch up. Last Tuesday was Rob's graduation so it was a busy day. Then early the next morning we took off for 5 days in Galveston, and had a blast!

 I got feather extensions!

Rob's Graduation (one of the biggest classes in TX)

I don't really know why these are so small, sorry!

It was so cool by the beach, and then this is what we came home to.

day 155/156/157

Saturday, I went shopping with my grandma to help her find something to wear for Rob's graduation. We have VERY different tastes, so needless to say what I picked out wasn't her style. But how cute does she look in this top?!?!  ( LOVE YOU NANA!)

Yesterday was Senior Sunday at church and then we had Rob's graduation party. I can't believe he is about to graduate! So Crazy!! I was pretty busy, so I didn't take many pictures, but here is one of the cake.

And tonight I have been on a total cleaning streak. I cleaned out the fridge, pantry, kitchen, and my bathroom. I am that person that doesn't stop cleaning once I start. Here is the fridge after I cleaned.

It is officially summer time in Texas. For the first time this summer I saw three digits on the thermometer. It was 106 when I got in my car today! That is CRAZY!!!

day 153

I didn't really feel so hot today, so I was so lazy all day. Then tonight I made dinner for Krystel and myself, watched the Rangers win, and then the Mavs win! It was an exciting night. I also printed some new pictures because I realuzed a lot of my pictures were from freshman year where I look like I am a baby. Here are some of the pictures I printed.

day 152

Nothing much happened today, and I don't have a picture. But my friend posted this the other day, and I think it is really funny and so true.

*** Adult Truths ***
1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

17. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

22. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

24. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important.
