Day 13- A Fictional Book

I have been thinking a lot lately about how lucky I am that I grew up so close to DFW, one of the biggest metroplexes in the country.  I think about my friends I met in Oklahoma, who would have to take a day off and drive an hour just to go to the mall, where as I have around 5 within a thirty minute drive of here. I am so fortunate. I started thinking about all this on my drive to school the other day. I drive by The Ballpark and Cowboys stadium every day to and from school. It is so crazy to think that in a few months the Superbowl will be in my backyard. How many people can say that? so cool.

Other than that school is school. Classes are going well, however I am ready to really get in to my major classes and not take any more gen-eds.

Im sure most people have heard about this but there was a shooting at the UT-Austin campus yesterday. College shootings are always scary, but this one hit home even more because a) I go to a UT satellite school and b) I know a lot of people that go there. It got me thinking how I would react if I got an email or text saying the campus was on lockdown. I honestly think I would freak out and not even know what to do. Its scary that we even have to worry about these things these days. When I walk on any college campus I have a sense of security because you are surrounded by other college students like you, or so I think. What is there to stop crazy people from walking around the campus? just something to think about.

Day 13- A Ficitional Book

I don't really read many fictional books, but this was my favorite book (and movie) that I read in school.

And fun story, when Louis Sachar was writing this book I was in 4th grade and he came to talk to us at Rasor. He read the first chapter of this book that he had just written. Pretty cool to think now.

peace.

Last night I went to Rob's game vs. Marcus. It was a rough one. Keep rob's frind TK in your prayers. He got hurt last night and was taken to the hospital from the field.

Day 11- A Photo Of You Taken Recently

So recently my life has been consumed with school and all the decisions that come with getting older. I have researched so many schools that have either P.A. or accelerated B.S.N. programs. I have looked at schools all over the country just to keep my options open. It is exciting and nerve racking all at the same time. If you know me you know I am a planner, and not being able to plan out my future is driving me crazy!!! But, I keep telling myself that this is God teaching me a lesson.

So with all that said I saw this quote and really liked it

"Life is what happens while you are making other plans." - John Lennon

In other news, I chopped 5 inches of my hair off today. It was time for a change and I absolutely LOVE it. It is so short (for me) and so much lighter.

Day 10- A Photo Of You Taken Over 10 Years Ago

Well its been a while..... haha

Welll this past Sunday was my birthday so of course I celebrated all weekend. Saturday night I went to the Dave Matthews Band concert with Hillary. He was awesome like usual and it was really fun. It was a little humid but other than that the weather wasn't that bad either. After that we met up with some of my other friends for a while and then Hill and I stayed at the Nylo Hotel. If you have never heard this is a loft style hotel. Picture what you would think a super modern New York loft would be and thats exactly what this place looked like. It was so much fun and I loved getting to have some "hill" time.

Sunday was the big day. We went to church and then a whole bunch of people wemt to lunch. It was so great to be surrounded by so many friends and family. I am so blessed. Overall it was a low-key, but great day!

And tonight I just got back from the rangers game...and THEY WON!!! And the best birthday present EVER was that they swept the Yankees over the weekend. and I hate the yankees!!!

And I promise to do better at updating! Hopefully my life wont be as hectic now that I have a schedule down.

A picture of me taken over 10 years ago....(this is so embarrasing)

This picture is so old school. (Shout out to Keith for putting it on facebook)

Day 9- A Photo I Took

I typed out my whole post and then it deleted....So round 2

This past week has been extremely hectic. It was the first full week of classes and with that comes the craziness of figuring out a schedule of the semester. I really like my classes so far. The hardest is definitely Chem 2, but I should be able to get through it. I love my kinesiology class, and am really excited about all the other excercise science classes after this one. My last class of the day is Pilates. If you have never tried Pilates YOU SHOULD!!! It is a great workout and a great way to wind down after classes.

Friday I went to the Plano East game to see Rob play. He did really well and THEY WON!! YAY!! I got to watch the band at half time and their show this year was awesome, ecspecially for being so early in the season. East band makes up so many of my high school memories and I like being able to see the that the tradition continues.

Saturday was college football kickoff. For the first time in 4 years I was not at a game and it was really sad. I just kept reminding myself that even if I had done guard this year, that I would be in this same boat next year.  But TCU and OU won, so all is well.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!

A Picture I Took
